Fix location sharing on your phone, step by step

Vetta Driver shares your phone's location with your broker only while you're on a load. If the app says your location isn't reaching the broker, or sharing keeps stopping, find your problem below. Menu names differ a little between phones and versions.

Getting the app

Open the link in the text your broker sent you. If Vetta Driver is installed, the link opens it on your load. If not, it opens the check-in in your browser, which shows what to do next.

Location: allow all the time

Sharing works best when Vetta Driver may use your location all the time. It still uses it only during a load you started. If you choose "While using the app", sharing still runs after you start it, but stops if you close the app or restart the phone.

Android

  1. Open Settings, then Apps, then Vetta Driver.
  2. Tap Permissions, then Location.
  3. Choose Allow all the time. If you don’t see it, choose Allow only while using the app: sharing still runs once you start it.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings, then scroll down and tap Vetta Driver.
  2. Tap Location.
  3. Choose Always.

Precise location

The broker's map only takes precise locations. With Precise Location off, the app keeps sending but the map does not move.

Android

  1. Settings, Apps, Vetta Driver, Permissions, Location.
  2. Turn on Use precise location.

iPhone

  1. Settings, Vetta Driver, Location.
  2. Turn on Precise Location.

Battery Saver and Low Power Mode

Battery Saver (Android) and Low Power Mode (iPhone) can stop apps from running in the background, including Vetta Driver. Turn it off while you're on a load.

Android

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap Battery Saver (or Power saving) to turn it off.
  3. Or: Settings, Battery, Battery Saver, off.

iPhone

  1. Settings, Battery.
  2. Turn off Low Power Mode.
  3. If sharing still stops: Settings, General, Background App Refresh, and make sure it is on for Vetta Driver.

Android: sharing keeps stopping

Some Android phones close apps in the background to save battery, even with Battery Saver off. If Vetta Driver keeps showing "Sharing stopped", let it run without battery limits. Find your phone below. This uses a little more battery during the load.

Samsung

  1. Settings, Apps, Vetta Driver, Battery: choose Unrestricted.
  2. Settings, Battery (or Battery and device care), Background usage limits: make sure Vetta Driver is not in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.

Google Pixel

  1. Settings, Apps, Vetta Driver, App battery usage: choose Unrestricted.

Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO

  1. Settings, Apps, Manage apps, Vetta Driver, Battery saver: choose No restrictions.
  2. In the same screen, turn on Autostart.

OnePlus, OPPO, realme

  1. Settings, Apps, Vetta Driver, Battery usage: turn on Allow background activity.
  2. In the same screen, turn on Allow auto launch if you see it.

Motorola

  1. Settings, Apps, Vetta Driver, App battery usage: choose Unrestricted.

Android: the sharing notification

While sharing, Android shows a "Sharing your location" notification. Sharing still works with notifications off, but you won't see that it's on. To show it: Settings, Apps, Vetta Driver, Notifications, on.

The app says your location isn't reaching the broker

  • Check Precise Location is on (see Precise location).
  • Set your phone's date and time to automatic: Settings, Date & time (Android: Settings, System, Date & time).
  • No signal? Keep sharing on. Points are saved on the phone and sent when you're back online.
  • If the app says you're signed out, sign in again with your phone number.

When sharing stops

Sharing ends when the load is delivered, when your broker ends it, or when you tap Stop sharing. The app then shows when sharing ended, and your location is no longer collected.

Texts from Vetta

Texts come from (877) 318-3882 and only about a load your broker sent you. Reply STOP to stop them, or START to get them again. Nobody reads other replies to this number. Message and data rates may apply. See the SMS terms.
